Hannah with a “ wee explorer” at chellberg farm.

From leading summer camps to school year programs and community events over the last year, Hannah has been struck by the number of kids who have never had the opportunity to get outdoors and explore nature. She recently had a 64-year old grandfather chaperone a group who had never visited the Dunes or camped previously. Like the kids, he thoroughly enjoyed his first campfire s’more!

Hannah is a post-graduate Environmental Education Fellow who has been living, learning and working on campus since last June. She shared how happy she is to have this opportunity to teach kids to love and care about the natural world. “Seeing the kids’ awe and wonder is what I enjoy most.”

A recent graduate of Indiana University’s Environment and Sustainability Studies program, Hannah looks forward to bringing her passion for outdoor environmental education to even more students, as a classroom teacher.

Help sustain the Fellowship program so more future conservation leaders, like Hannah, can launch their careers teaching in an outdoor classroom. By participating, you provide scholarship funds that help make an overnight experience possible for more than 50% of the kids who join us on campus for a school year program or week of summer camp.

Your contribution makes these incredible moments of discovery and personal growth possible.

Andre is just one camper whose experience at DLC impacted his life. From his first year at summer camp to where he is now and his future career goals, he says, “I wouldn’t be who I am without Dunes Learning Center!”
